About Mario + Rabbids Sparks of Hope on Nintendo Switch
Parents need to know that Mario + Rabbids Sparks of Hope is an upcoming tactical strategy game exclusively for the Nintendo Switch. The game is a sequel to 2017’s Mario + Rabbids Kingdom Battle, and picks up almost immediately where the first game left off. At the start of the title, Mario, Luigi, Peach, and their Rabbid counterparts are having a relaxed day in the kingdom when they suddenly discover that the rest of the galaxy has been taken over by Darkmess, a goopy form of energy that corrupts everything it touches. Even worse, a strange being known as Cursa is spreading this Darkmess as it searches the universe to consume Sparks, which appear to be a mix of Lumas from Super Mario Galaxy, and Rabbids.
It’s up to the group of heroes to find the Sparks before Cursa can, defeat Cursa’s minions, and stop the villain before the rest of the galaxy is destroyed. Similar to the first game, players take turns positioning their party, using special abilities, and attacking enemies, and can perform two actions per turn. But there’s much more flexibility in Sparks of Hope than the original title. For example, dashing into enemies is a free move, and depending on the spark that a character has equipped, they’ll be able to perform multiple dashes into or through enemies, causing repeated damage before triggering an attack.
